Junior QA Web Tester
A QA tester at Portent will be assisting in finding and reporting errors in web applications. They will test web applications for compatibility in multiple web browsers, usability issues, search engine friendliness and performance metrics. The tester will be responsible for assisting the QA lead in writing test plans, test cases, and acceptance tests to help ensure quality processes. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level web tester.
Responsibilities:
- Testing web applications in multiple browsers for css/html/server side code problems.
- Ensuring development changes meet the company standards with web marketing goals in mind.
- Assisting QA lead in source code management with CVS.
- Excellent communication and writing skills necessary to document and describe issues in web applications.
- Good multitasking skills to manage change requests for multiple clients.
- Ability to work well with both technical and non technical employees.
- A strong desire for being involved with building quality web systems in search engine marketing.
- Building effective relationships between development and production teams through communication, cooperation, and teamwork.
Requirements:
- Familiarity building web applications using server side languages (CFMX, PHP, .NET, or other).
- Strong interest and enthusiasm for testing web applications.
- Flexibility and adaptability, persistence and thoroughness.
- Must have minimum 1–2 years work experience with internet and web technologies (CSS/XHTML)
- Familiarity with relational databases (MSSQL,mysql).
- Knowledge of search engine optimization and search engine marketing a strong plus.
